Description/Reviews
Yet another jewel from Flora, named "Sei" because it's their sixth studio album. With this record Flora confirm furthermore the rare merit to create a sound stylistically so personal as to become difficult, even inapproriate, to attempt to define them in a specific music genre.
We take a chance to describe their music trough that magic mix of post-rock and art-pop-jazz-rock with Canterburian shades or close to the softer Tortoise, that already have marked the excellent (brilliant) "Traiettorie di volano", fruit of sensibility and knowledgeable writing.
A poetic dimension of disenchanted beauty, that taste of small things, everyday life, bouncing on a dimmed jazz ambience (even this time there is no lack of valuable instrumental moments with "Tartaruga", "Insalata  numero 6" and the melancholic ending drop-scene of "Tokio"), with the gorgeus twists of bass-guitar-drums, then the sax, keyboards and glockenspiel to paint light colours but decisive, and the original vocal contribution of Claudia Nicastro. (Lizard)
