 Description/Reviews
After the acclaimed “Trails of Ambergris”, the Yleclipse have released in late Autumn 2012 a new studio cd titled “Songs from the crackling Atanor”. The first 3 albums by the band, were a sort of chemical trilogy, whether “Trails” was an attempt to throw light on a obscure chapter of history from the “Napoleonic Wars” period. “Songs from the crackling Atanor” instead represents a “political breakthrough” for the Yleclipse themes. Topics such as the outrageous preponderance of financial speculation over real economy, the mere illusion of consumerism, and the eventual and unavoidable crisis of a life-style based on ever-growing globalization, conceived after WWII, are the issues dealt in this work. Moreover, the “Atanor” image is reminiscent of an allegorical language still often used in the band’s lyrics. Finding the clues through the lines is up to the listener… Seven tracks, including one instrumental acoustic piece, for over 60 minutes of music, the usual but moderate use of sound effects, are contained in this work by the band, featuring the same line-up since a long time.
